A bold vision needed infrastructure to match
Entr was built around a clear and ambitious vision: a place where culture and education come alive through virtual reality. Not a passive experience, but one where visitors walk through stories and worlds together. Amsterdam, 1652. Standing in the middle of the Golden Age, surrounded by the city as it once was.
The creative vision was there. A studio to build the experiences was already in place. What Entr needed was the infrastructure to make it work at museum scale, frictionless, reliable and built for hundreds of visitors a day.
That's where VR Base Solutions came in. We became the technical partner behind the operation: designing and deploying the full infrastructure stack, building on VR Base Core as the central backbone.
The technical challenge
Running 120+ simultaneous visitors in VR isn't a simple problem. Power constraints at the venue limited local rendering to 50 high-performance PCs. Getting beyond that required a hybrid approach: local rendering combined with cloud streaming to scale visitor capacity without expanding the physical footprint.
On top of that, the visitor flow needed to be seamless. From ticket to headset, every step had to work without friction, so we built a direct integration between the check-in system and VR Base Core, automating onboarding and session management at the door.
Where it's going
Entr operates from a permanent location in Amsterdam and a mobile setup for schools, temporary venues and events. The long-term plan is to scale to multiple permanent locations worldwide. Because VR Base Core manages everything centrally, every new location plugs into the same operational backbone, without rebuilding from scratch.
The partnership is clear: Entr owns the creativity, the vision and the commercial rollout. VR Base Solutions owns the technical infrastructure that makes it all run.
